Title: Senior Project Manager – Military Logistics Location: Washington, DC Salary: $140+/Yearly + Full Benefits W-2, C2C-NO Client: Direct Client Job Description Position is on the staff of a private, not-for-profit
consulting firm headquartered in Tysons, VA and provides technical and
analytical expertise to facilitate the effective and efficient execution of the
Army PEO-EIS AESIP and related programs. Work will be primarily at the LMI
client site in Alexandria, Virginia. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential Job
Functions) Program Manager will be responsible for managing,
sustaining, and growing LMI’s PMO and SETA support for the Army’s PEO-EIS AESIP
and related programs. Lead a team of LMI staff and subcontractors that provide
administrative, acquisition, technical, and project management services to the
Army. Provide leadership in the
development of high quality technical products for the customer using LMI’s ISO
9001-certified quality management system; provide pro-active communications
regularly with management and customer regarding program status. Additionally perform business development for
pursuit, and capture for new opportunities with existing and new clients. Key program management responsibilities may include: • Serve
as a focal point for managing customer and partner relationships. Maintain
communication and interact with individuals at all levels of the Army’s
professional staff. • Manages
the day to day operations of the program and interfaces with client management
daily regarding program/project issues. Respond to internal and external
substantive questions and inquiries on assigned tasks, projects and business
analysis. • Identify
and meet with key resource, subject matter experts, and advisors from within
LMI, the Army, and contractor staff to establish and maintain network for
information sharing • Develop
and supervise all aspects of the projects tasks, contract deliverables, and
on-site activities, including operational planning and execution, logistics,
information systems, administrative, and staffing requirements where
applicable. • Prepares
and delivers project status reports and communications to client management.
Resolves project staffing and planning issues, manages company staff assigned
to the project, and ensures continuity of support during Contractor personnel
changes. • Ensures
projects are completed within applicable estimated time frames and budget
constraints through coordination of project approach, methods, and staffing;
resolves any issues with staff, tools and methods. • Reviews
project deliverables and work products for accuracy, completeness, and
adherence to client requirements/standards. • Conduct
detailed technical assessments of issued Task Order requests for proposal
(RFPs) and/or directed Task Order awards. • Manage
and write proposals for work for existing and new clients and opportunities.
Coordinate development of LMI proposals in response to the issued Task Orders,
RFI’s, or RFP’s across LMI functional program directorates, administrative
directorates (e.g., contracting), and with teaming partners as appropriate.
Responsible for establishing and meeting proposal development deadlines as well
as the quality of the proposals. • Research,
identify and track relevant opportunities that align with the business
strategy. • Maintain
awareness of industry trends, market space, and competitors in order to
identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and
differentiators. Minimum Qualifications Applicants to this position will be subject to a
government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for
access to classified information. Only U.S. Citizens are eligible for security
clearances. For this position, LMI will only consider individuals who possess
current security clearances or those who are eligible to obtain one. • BA/BS
in management science, operations research, logistics, engineering, information
systems, or similar technical/scientific discipline required. Project
Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Master’s in related field is
preferred. • Minimum
10 years’ service in the US Army, with increasing scope of responsibility. • Demonstrated
project leadership/management and government contract management experience.
Seven or more years relevant program management experience in support of
Department of Defense. • Technical
expertise and experience with implementation of information technology
programs. Demonstrated knowledge of the software development lifecycle with
over 5 years of experience. • Excellent
written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose,
write, edit and proofread a variety of internal and external general business
correspondence, proposals, business contracts, project performance briefings,
reports presentations, project proposals, position papers, articles and
memoranda. • Excellent
interpersonal and listening skills required including the ability to develop
and maintain professional relationships in LMI’s multidisciplinary environment,
and to professionally represent LMI to technical and non-technical audiences. • Ability
to interact effectively with United States military and government personnel,
including staff and senior leadership, as well as personnel representing other
government and international organizations. Demonstrated ability to establish
and maintain strong client relationships. • Strong
planning skills and ability to initiate develop and effectively manage
concurrent multiple tasks, projects and strategies with little or no
supervision. Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned
tasks and projects within assigned deadlines. • Project
Management Professional, with experienced with projects with annual budgets of
$50+million and 100+personnel. Capable of succeeding in cost controls,
budgeting, scoping, planning, estimating, procurement, scheduling, change
management, tracking, contractor dispute resolution, and leadership. • Proven
experience in leading, managing, developing, and mentoring staff. • Demonstrated
experience developing new business opportunities and serving in the role of
capture manager. • Ability
to obtain security clearance required. • 20%
domestic travel required(Richmond, VA & Huntsville, AL)
