Position:  BI Report Writer – Perm full time with full benefits (sorry no contractors or sponsorship)

General Description:

This role is responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of the underlying data, and proper business uses to translate end-user report requirements into reporting solutions. Additionally, this role supports the end-user community in the use of business intelligence tools to query databases for report outputs.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
• Gather and document functional and technical report requirements, and translate requirements into reporting solutions
• Designs/develops Enterprise reports and maintains reporting environment
• Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses to ensure reports meet client needs
• Lead quality control and peer review processes to ensure integrity of the data displayed on reports
• Reviews queries for performance issues, making changes as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff members
• Create technical documentation of report logic and processes
• Work with BI Developers to understand code changes that will impact reports
• Support end-user community in the use of business intelligence tools to query databases and files for report outputs
• Develop and assist with report training through the development of training tools and training of key staff
• Work with Production DBA team to ensure new reports and/or processes abide to Production development standards
• Clearly and precisely communicate business requests to internal technical team in form of technical solutions
• Develop a relationship of communication and trust with business stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with virtual team members to ensure project completion 
• Additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field preferred
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of robust report development experience with MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), building database queries, stored procedures (SQL/T-SQL)
• Hands on experience creating complicated reports and presenting data in a clear and concise format
• Expertise in SQL Server 2008/2014; , SSRS and T-SQL 
• Knowledge of Power BI, SSIS and SharePoint a plus
• Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written
• Desire to learn new technologies and skills
